Piecing the Clothes

Happy Father's Day!  Beautiful weather for a great day to gather with family and celebrate dad's living and honor those who have left us with loving memories.

Here is the progress I made this week:

Tundra Girls

My family has lived vicariously through my youngest sister for the last 20+ years.  Mom refers to her as her "wonder lust" child, the last pioneer in our family.  After college, she moved to Alaska and has  remained there ever since.  She is married and has two daughters, thus the Tundra Girls.  One of her nieces, on her husband's side, took some beautiful pictures of her daughters.  When I saw this picture, I  immediately thought this was one I could attempt, and it would make a beautiful wall hanging.

This is the picture she posted on Facebook.  Aaah, this would make a good birthday present.

So much for birthday surprises, I asked her to send me the color version.  I wanted to replicate the colors of the clothing.

A good beginning

I am sure you can guess where these pictures were taken;

I think this one was taken around 2:00 in the morning.

Lovin' the Sun

I love the weather we have had this past week; mid seventies and low humidity.  Only such weather makes it difficult to stay inside and sew.  I finally finished the wall-hanging and I have a couple of "non-quilting" projects to work on this week for friends.

I decided to add on one of the baby's pacifiers to the wall-hanging which meant going to Joanne's to find some other items to compliment it and keep the design flowing.  I really do enjoy displaying my photos this way as opposed to putting them in picture frames.  The larger picture is that of my granddaughter and the smaller ones are those of my son and daughter in-law.

Here are some photos of Brighton Dam when the azaleas were in bloom.
